ABOUT

Thematising interspecies relationship between human and non human “ORACLE" is a light installation designed as an immersive, sensual-erotic ecosystem intertwinning a light object, Reishi mushroom sculptures, stones, sound, text and smell. Burning oud and musk oils, smells are used as aphrodisiacs and the attractive power of real plants is staged.

In this Installation environment audiences are free to move around the space, lie down, sit down, watch and listen as light and sound simulate weather-like conditions and evoke narratives as voices echo and drift across the space. The space in a constant state of transformation and shift. Particular attention is drawn to how subtle changes in light intensity and colour shift visual perceptions of shape, time and space.

Moving on from the performance work “Oracle Leaves- Portraits of Daphne'' by Colette Sadler the texts for “Oracle” were written in collaboration with Artificial Intelligence and put to music and song by Samir Kennedy. Drawn from a dataset that encompasses diverse perspectives, these texts reflect on relationships between women, empowerment and nature including works by Audre Lorde, Leonora Carrington,EM Forster,J Austen and Ovid.
